A nonprofit initiative preserving veteran oral histories, creative works, archives, and living legacies for education and public memory.
Our Story
Veteran Voices Collective grew from the urgent work of protecting Vietnam combat veteran Nelden J. Herron’s poetry, music, photographs, testimony, and creative rights. His experience revealed a much broader need: veterans and families often hold historically important materials without the technical, archival, financial, or institutional support required to preserve them.
We are building a responsible model that begins with one veteran’s wishes and can expand through qualified partnerships, funding, education, and public service.
What Makes the Work Distinct
We treat art and music not as decoration around history, but as part of the historical record itself. Veteran-created poetry, music, spoken word, visual art, and performance can communicate dimensions of service that conventional records cannot.
